This passion began in her early teens when her family moved into a new home with room for a pool table (a dream come true for her father!). Having friends over to play became a regular afternoon hang out and her competitive spirit was sparked by playing against her siblings at all hours (a bit of a nightmare for her mother!).
When Lita spent a semester of college abroad at Harlaxton College in Grantham, England and was introduced to snooker, her billiards passion was fueled exponentially. Living in Chicago after graduation, she taught her “Girl Squad” to play 8-ball and they soon dominated on Free Pool Tuesdays at their corner pub. Lita discovered a very specific kind of satisfaction that comes from being, at first, underestimated by a male opponent only to sweep the floor with him and decisively win a match. Seeing her friends’ self esteem soar as their skills improved and they began kicking ass at the table was an even greater and more gratifying victory.
